What You Need to Know

Consultations are free and usually take around 45 minutes. Booking an appointment requires a deposit. Two days prior to your appointment you must have a spot test done or sign the waiver form. This spot test is performed above the ear and indicates whether or not you will have an immediate reaction. Although reactions are rare, they do occur, and can occur at any time. A spot test procedure is $50 over and above the procedure price.

Do not wear makeup to the procedure. Avoid any skin care products with AHA or Glycolic.

It is very important that you do not book an appointment one week prior or during to your menstrual cycle. This is due to water retention and pain tolerance at cycle time. Also, be sure to schedule your appointment when your social calendar is low to allow for adequate healing. There is swelling for approximately 48 hours after the procedure.

Please Note: Once a procedure starts, no refunds will be issued.

  • Be sure you have comfortable clothing on the day of the procedure.
  • No procedure is guaranteed. All scar camouflage is experimental in nature.
  • All procedures require a follow up no later than 6 weeks at that time we will determine if you need touch ups, and you receive one free touch up per each paid for procedure.
  • The implanted color is always more intense until the scabbing has fallen off, so Do Not Panic as the color you choose will lighten as you heal.

Possible side effects with all intradermal cosmetics.

(This list is not meant to scare you but to keep you informed)

    1. Migration (color bleeds under the skin).
    2. Hyperpigmentation.
    3. Corneal Abrasion
    4. Infection
    5. Swelling will occur especially in the lips, there may also be bleeding and bruising.
    6. Although the very best anesthetics will be used, you may experience some pain.
    7. Lips are cool in nature and there is a chance of blue lips. This can be corrected in your second procedure.
    8. Fever Blisters. If you have ever had a cold sore or fever blister, you will have a break out. In order for you to help prevent this from occurring, it is absolutely essential to obtain a prescription for Zovirax from your doctor. You will need to take this pill the day of and one week after for any lip procedure.
    9. Since each individual's chemical and genetic makeup varies, it is impossible to tell in advance, how much pigment retention you can expect with each application, or even how many applications you will ultimately need. Your chemical and genetic makeup determines this. As a certified technician, I can assure you my pigment saturation is 100% with each application.
    10. The amount of pigment retained after an application is unpredictable and is not a reflection on the quality of the procedure. Your chemical and genetic makeup, over which we have no control, determines the retention.
    11. You will roughly see 40%-70% of color once the lips are healed.
    12. While most procedures last 7 to10 years with proper care, implanted pigment does fade with time.
    13. DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK AT YOUR PROCEDURE!! Scratching or picking will pull out the implanted pigment. The epithelial crust (scab) has to heal on its own.
